Fern | 0-1 Years

FERN ROOM | 0-1 YEARS

Our Fern room is based on building loving and trusting bonds between infants and teachers, who structure the day according to individual needs. Teachers work closely with families to understand infant cues and develop a routine that supports children’s natural rhythms.

Nikau | 1-2 Years

Kowhai | 2-2.5 Years

KOWHAI ROOM | 2-2.5 YEARS

Our Kowhai room is designed to help our tamariki balance the desire to be independent with the need to be nurtured and cared for. This age group are ready to explore their sense of self whilst still needing more care than the older children, therefore a focus on emerging social skills and independence make this space.

Manuka | 2.5-3 Years

MANUKA ROOM | 2.5-3 YEARS

Our Manuka room supports the unfolding autonomy of the older tamariki. Teachers work closely with families to encourage toileting skills and the programme incorporates creative mediums such as art, dramatic play and storytelling to allow the child’s emergent personality to blossom.

Pohutukawa | 3-4 Years

POHUTUKAWA ROOM | 3-4 YEARS

Our Pohutukawa room supports the tamariki with social and emotional competence at a time when they are ready to engage in meaningful play with others. Children are encouraged to care for others, the environment and their own property and are supported to understand their growing sense of responsibility for themselves and the world around them.

Kauri Room | 4-5 Years

KAURI ROOM | 4-5 YEARS

Our Kauri room is where tamariki start to become more aware of their upcoming transition to school, our resources are reflective of the mediums children will be using at school. While reading and writing materials are available to explore, the curriculum is emergent and discovery-based, with teachers observing and conversing with children to develop projects based on their interests. The provision of loose parts promotes imagination, problem solving and a thirst for learning to inspire children though to the next stage of their educational journey.
